Vintage

Northern Tasmania had average winter rainfall, increasing to above average in late spring, setting the scene for excellent growth as the weather warmed.

Winemaking

The grapes were picked based on flavour ripeness, sent to the winery and destemmed except for 10% where the stalks were left. Fermented to dryness, this wine spent a total of 15 days on skins.
Bottled 13th March 2013.
Aged in French oak barriques for 9 ½ months. 15% in new oak.
We use traditional late malolactic fermentation, the wine overwinters in barrels and malolactic fermentation occurs in spring as the temperature naturally increases.
Will reward cellaring for at least 5 years.

Best served at 15-17°C.    13.5% alc/vol
